As I'm sure many of you guys know, it can be an endeavor to find roleplay icons. Old standbys like pb_updates still get, well, updated, but the tags and memories haven't been updated in years, and a lot of the older icon sets that are in the archives have been deleted or nerfed by the great Photobucket disaster. A lot of the iconners on Dreamwidth don't post to pb_updates, and communities like  and   are great (I definitely utilize them when putting my lists together!) but they're mostly organized by media, not subject, so finding icons of a specific actor/character can be time-consuming, and they don't typically link to still-active Insanejournal iconners. And neither website cross-references hollow-art!

So here we are. I'm going to try to compile lists of roleplay icons from as many journals as I can, sorted first by subjects and then by media.

This is a relatively ambitious project, so I'm starting (relatively) small: compiling all the icons I can find for all the women who've appeared in the MCU. I'm starting here because, well, I only icon women and I icon (and roleplay) a lot of the women in the MCU, so it's pretty familiar territory. There's going to be a masterlist of posts, each of which will contain a list of icons of a particular person, both in and out of the MCU. (Confession: one of the main inspirations for this project was the fact that I roleplay Wanda Maximoff, who it's very easy to find icons of, but I was idly thinking "what if I wanted to make an AU journal set in the olden days and use icons of Elizabeth Olsen from the movie In Secret, but I didn't want to make those icons myself?")
